I think the other side is fine. I am going to try and break this free using radiator flush tomorrow. I heard this will break down the corrosion.

I found an old drive boot from my boat I sold and it just happened to be a perfect size to fit around the cylinder. I cleaned off the piston as best as I could with a non-metal brush, put the boot on and poured some Radiator Cleaner in the boot to remove the corrosion. I will do the PB spray if this doesn't work. I don't have a Cherry Picker here, so i thought I would try some stuff in the meantime.

I think you need a penetrating oil/solvent to get between the piston and cylinder wall instead of the radiator cleaner. Liquid Wrench or Kroil would be good choices.

Yeah, I took a look at it this morning before heading to work and it doesn't really look like it's doing anything. I do have some PB Spray. Is this stuff more aggresive than Liquid Wrench?

Here is a link to my Pelican thread on goop, with the highlights below. Some of the last stuff might be good for your engine Leo.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=365140

Penetrating oil.
Right now I buy anything I see that I don't have.

WD40
PB Blaster
Liquid Wrench
Breakfree
Kroil
Marvel Mystery Oil
Mopar Rust Penetrant
Lear Corrosion Block (a marine product)
GM heat valve lubricant

I went to this site:

That Corrosion Block stuff looks promising. Have you tried this stuff DanglerB?

I'm only this far down my list of buying things;

WD40
PB Blaster
Liquid Wrench
Breakfree
Marvel Mystery Oil

Marvel and PB are what I tend to grab first, but a few of those last ones sound like they have extra mojo. ;)

Ok I guess I will revive this thread. I will be picking up a Cherry Picker this afternoon and if the weather holds up. I am going to try and pull it out tomorrow (Saturday). :driving:
