Post subject:  Starting Problems

Hope i post this in the right place, i am new to the forum.

I have a 1988 and i parked it one night and that was it. She will not start. I checked the fuel pump the fuse and the relay, all are well. I can manually close the contact on the relay and the car starts but the ignition will not send enouph amperage to energize the relay. i am thinking about replacing the ignition switch. The switch seems worn and may not be coming back to the right position.

Any advise

I think you've done the proper troubleshooting. I would suggest the same. Ignition switches are a know issue on these cars. If it replaces like the early cars, it's fairly straightforward. Remove Pod and Steering wheel. The Switch part is on the rear of the Tumbler held by a screw or a pin, then remove the plug on the rear carefully.
