Post Dammit! Failed smog.
Ok, failed smog here in California. Damn these laws!!!

Vehicle is a gross polluter apparently. Very high hydrocarbons and co2 emissions.
I've given it in to a shop to get the catalytic converter and some adjoining pipes replaced.
Then will change filters and fix the little vacuum leak it has.

Any more suggestions, so I pass smog the next time round?

Which were you too high on, the nox and/or the hydrocarbons?

first things i would do after you get the cat replaced is change the o2 sensor and the smog pump filter. o2 sensor on ljet cars makes alot of control for fuel trim at cruising speed which is the range for smog is conducted. vacuum leaks would be the next major contributer to your failing. i posted some things to check on another thread here (see post 2nd from the top) that should help get your car back up to par. If everything is checked good besides the ljet brain, i have a spare working one that i can lend you to test with. fuel injectors may be an issue too and should be sent for cleaning (especially if your nox is still too high after fixing the rest). Also i got this mixed up until recently, the vacuum line diagrams with the black 3way parts get vacuum at idle (I.E. Fuel dampners and pressure regulators) and white 3 way parts get vacuum on throttle (I.E. Ignition timing advance).

Hope this helps,
Jonathan.

Thanks Jonathan.
I will post a couple of engine pics this afternoon.

I replaced the cat converter to an aftermarket high flow one and also replaced the section of pipe all the way to the muffler. Replaced the O2 sensor. Fixed the vaccum leak and replaced the spark plugs.
I am off to get it Re-smogged in an hour. Wish me luck.

Luckily the retest is free. Lol.

Well the max limit for CO2 in California is 0.82, my little bundle of joy registered at 8+ LOL...
Gross polluter. Hydrocarbons were a little above the limit.

very nice! looking forward to your progress. hows the weather over there? im slightly worried about your electronics if it rains and your car is not garaged, the cowl covers that goes the windhield wiper motors is only half there, definitely replace it at some point. theres also a drain flap on the passenger side of the firewall that always is clogged full of leaves and junk. clean that out as well because if it pours its at risk of flooding over into the cabin (right over the CE panel!).
