Post Searching for a 928
Hello everyone,

I am a long time 911 owner, but never a 928. I have been lurking on this site for a while to aquire the best information in order to make an educated decision. I have found a 87 928 S4 5 speed 30K miles for $36,000. I also, found Willhoit (which has been mentioned a great deal on this forum).

It seems that Willhoit has a good selection of GTS, should I consider one of his cars or keep searching?

Any feedback would be very helpful.

Thanks

OLC

From what I heard about Wilhoit, if your looking for a Concourse 928 and you have the money he is asking, then he is your man. I'm kind of the opposite, I like the killer deals that I see as a Project and learn from it by turning the wrench myself and gaining the wrenching advice from others.

I would say, if you don't like to wrench "a lot," then buy a Turn Key Work of Art from Wilhoit. We're to help as much as we can, but you'll see most of the info here is with the early 928's.

What have you turned up with a GTS search. Someday I would love to have a Black on Black one.

Welcome to the Boards!

I have turned up alot of automatics, would recommend a 5 speed over the automatic. The 5 speed seems to me that it would be a great deal more fun to drive.

Yes and no. Depends on how you will use the car too. Not sure about where you live but we have Traffic here in San Diego and especially in Los Angeles. An Automatic is an absolute joy in these scenarios. Also, it's a V8 in a little car, they are BOTH awesome!

You just missed a perfect one for you then. They come around, just be patient. If your going to spend over 30K, get a GTS. Forget S4.
